Why did I create this site?

This site was designed and developed to be a gag/informative page. I created this site based solely on the amount of "mentions" that I (@scott) was receiving on Twitter. I receive an average of about two mentions per day, though this has been steadily increasing on a day-to-day basis. I hope that you get a couple of laughs while you are here. I also want to make sure that user’s tweets get to the right people, although it is good that my @scott feed never receives an "Inbox Full" alert.

If you did mean to mention @scott and I am not following you on Twitter than your tweet will still show up as if I don't know you. I am working on this and will update the site accordingly.

For now, I am only displaying the 20 latest mentions on the home page, but I plan to allow for some customization in the near future.

I am not responsible for the content of any link on this website. I cannot control what other people may link to. I am simply providing an index of tweets that have mentioned my name. Please use discretion when clicking on links to other websites.

Why Scotty?

I chose to use "Scotty" instead of "Scott" because this site is somewhat based off of the song "Scotty Doesn't Know" by Lustra (this is NOT my video upload). It was used in the movie Eurotrip. "Scotty Doesn’t Know" is not a song for children, so make sure that you have your headphones plugged in! The logo that I created is based off of first few lyrics in the song so if the "Fiona and me" part was confusing to you, now you know why I chose to incorporate it into the design. I normally don’t like to be called Scotty, but for this website, I guess I’ll have to let it slide.

About Me

I was born, raised, and currently live in New Bedford, MA. I am 21 years old. I have always liked cats. My cat Mustache is awesome! I recently graduated from Johnson & Wales University with a Bachelor's Degree in Graphics & New Media. I absolutely love drag racing. I have raced at my local drag strip a few times with my turbocharged Saturn SL2. It is such an adrenaline rush!

One of the main reasons that I am interested in photography is because you can take a photograph of absolutely anything and make it look interesting. I use a Canon S3 IS to snap my photographs. I'd rather not edit my photos because I want the viewer to see them as naturally appearing as possible. I use a Dynex tripod for my long exposure photographs. I took a photography course at Johnson & Wales University two years ago and it really spiked my interest in photography. I have a photographic interest in abandonment, animals, cars, long exposure, macro, nature, and many other categories.

As a web designer, I strive to have every aspect as perfect as possible. While I know that there is almost no way that a web site can be perfect, it is important to use the best possible and valid techniques. I coded this website to have 100% valid XHTML and CSS3 code.

Mention the Correct Scott

The first thing that you want to do is: make sure that you are mentioning the correct "Scott". If I am not the Scott you're looking for, then don't use "@Scott" in your tweet.

Don't Use First and Last Names

If you are tweeting a "Scott", make sure that you don't use first and last names to try to reach that "Scott".

  • e.g. - "@Scott Monty" will not get your tweet to the right Scott...it will go to me.
  • e.g. - "@Scott Baio" will not get your tweet to the right Scott...it will go to me.

Use the Correct Screenname

It is important that you type "Scott's" screenname correctly.

  • Remember that Twitter does not accept dashes ("-") in usernames, only underscores ("_").
  • e.g. - "@Scott-mills" will not get your tweet to the right Scott...it will go to me.

Click on the "Retweet" Button

If you're retweeting "Scott", there is an easier way. It's as easy as 1, 2...

  1. Go to "Scott's" Twitter Page and hover over the tweet that you'd like to retweet with your mouse.
  2. Click on the "retweet" button and click "Yes".

It's as easy as that! Happy Tweeting!
